CLawrence's Travel Journals

What was the saddest moment you have ever seen in your travels?

Seeing the different levels of poverty. Feeling like you are helping- but not being able to help everyone that you come in contact with.

So today is my third day in Urubamba Peru and I already feel like I've lived here my whole life. I miss home a lot but I'm trying to remind myself that this is a once and a life time experience.  Everyone is so friendly and happy which is truely amazing considering how they live. My family is extremely welcoming and friendly. My mother Sonya is an amazing cook and everything I've had so far has been so delicious. There is so many new things all around me I feel like a little kid in Toys R' Us. I want touch, smell, taste everything and anything I see. It's almost exhausting.  Yesterday Sam took us for a little tour around the market which was so much fun. I went with my father Ivan last night to SEVEN stores in search of spaggetti for dinner, what a fun adventure. It's amazing how we have everything in close reach in America, if you need pasta you know the supermarket is going to have it. Last night was one of our volunteers birthdays so we went back to the ProPeru house in Urubamba after we finished dinner and made an impressive bonfire! It was nice to get out of the house and speak some English for an hour. Who would have thought?  My mind is too scattered right now to continue writing, I'll write more at a later point in time.

Adios!
