Oh what a day :) I'm exhausted but wanted to write a little something before I fell asleep. I'm also waiting for my sister and nephew to get back from church so I need to kill some time. Today was a pretty cool day at school. Geoff invited one of his friends who is volunteering with the local TV station to come to Aboom to do some coverage on the school, the students and the volunteers. Her name is Margo and she is from France. She's awesome! She spent a few hours observing the studetns, taking some video and interviewing the headmistress and Geoff and I. She asked us some pretty basic questions about our experiences at the school, the difference between a mainstream school and the special needs school and what message we would like to give to the viewers. I'm so excited to see the final prodcut. She is going to let us know when it is on the news. She is also going to give us a copy so I can upload it and post it for everyone. Geoff and I are working on a few other projects at school. We are going to make a big poster that has different beading patterns and get it printed to hang up for the students to use while they are making the bracelets. Some of the students are great with the patterns but many of the students just put random beads on the string. We thought the bracelets might sell better if they had a pattern. We are hoping to get that put together over the weekend. After school I went to the castle to visit a few friends. I ran into my friend Stacey. She was with me at Sankofa and is from Portland. She decided to leave her volunteer placement to do some traveling. We got to spend a few hours chatting about our different experienecs. It was really great to see her. We stayed around the castle and watched Patrick's rehearsal. I'm making some new little friends around the castle. All the children that spend time around there are starting to recognize me and always come up to dance and play with me. I took some pictures of them tonight so I will have to post them soon. After rehearsal, Patrick and I went to Oasis to sit by the ocean and chat. I'm going to miss this place so much :(So, for the first time since arriving here, I have a complaint :( Boo. I took extra money with me today so I could buy a few things after school. I never carry a lot of money with me, especially not big bills. Well,  now I am reminded why. I'm not sure when or where it happened but my 50 cedi bill went missing out of my wallet. I am not super uptight with my belongings like I was when I first got here and now I am reminded that I still need to be careful. I'm not really concerned about the money, more upset because someone would do that. I just really really hope that it wasn't someone that I know. I will never know where the money went, but it is a good reminder that I need to be very very careful. Patrick was upset with me and told me that he always reminds me to be extra careful and I wasn't. I think he was more upset about the money than I was. Eek, not a good feeling. We have a very busy weekend coming up. Some of my friends from Sankofa who moved to Alex's orphanage will be coming for a visit. Alex will also be here with one of her children from her orphanage. We have an impact project with ProWorld on Saturday morning. Sunday we will be traveling to Accra which means we have to be up really early. Definitely going to be a jam packed weekend. I think that's all for today. I'm exhausted. I received a text saying that I have a package waiting for me at the post office so I'll be picking it up after school tomorrow. hope there are some goodies in it :) love and miss you all. Goodnight! XOXO
